Can AIIC training change lives?
Ask Trinkett Parker.
Trinkett had been a hairdresser for 27 years when she came to AIIC’s Basic Class in 2000. She loved the class and saw the opportunity it could give her for a better life. As Trinkett’s technique matured, she began to specialize in paramedical procedures – specifically areola restorations on breast cancer survivors following mastectomy surgery.
Now, she does six to eight procedures a day and earns $2,000 to $3,000 a day! She performs seven or eight areola restorations each week.
“It really gives me a great feeling to help these women feel whole again,” said Trinkett. She gives every cancer patient a goodie bag with a pink robe, a pink rose, an armband, and a breast cancer awareness pin. “They cry, I cry, and then we cry together. I send them all a card and a letter. They really make me feel special.”
Trinkett’s dedication and hard work has paid off in other ways as well. She recently won the Northwest Florida Doctors’ Choice Award for her paramedical work. She constantly receives referrals from plastic surgeons and oncologists. She has two offices: one in Pace, Florida and the other in Pensacola, which she shares with three plastic surgeons.
In her spare time, Trinkett loves to barrel race. When she competed in the National Barrel Horse Association’s World Championship, she donated her winnings to the Pensacola Breast Cancer Association. She also gave 10 percent of her earnings in October to the Association as recognition of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and in memory of her sister, Piper Mapoles Godwin, who died of breast cancer in 1996 at the age of 38.
Since Trinkett took her first AIIC class, she has gone on to complete the AIIC Advanced and Paramedical Training and also holds the AIIC Certified Master Technician and Certified Instructor designations. This is the third course I have taken on permanent makeup. I have spent a lot of money on education, searching for sufficient hands-on training that would give me the confidence that I need to do procedures. The training offered by the American Institute of Intradermal Cosmetics was worth my time and money and actually cheaper than other places that I have attended. I did as many procedures in two days of Hands-On Clinic than the five day training they offered at other schools for much more money. The expertise and knowledge of the trainers was excellent. Well done!
