Training & Licensure Requirements

Becoming a permanent makeup artist looks different depending on which state you live in, as each state has different training and licensure requirements. In some states, you need to be licensed as a cosmetologist or esthetician, in others you simply need to take a bloodborne pathogen training and complete a permanent makeup training or apprentice program, and some states have no regulations at all! Oregon: You must be licensed through the Oregon Board of Body Art Practitioners, complete training in blood borne pathogens, CPR, and first aid.
