Microblading Myths: Busted

Posted on

Microblading is one of the newest trends it seems in the makeup industry. Even though it’s been around for quite some time, it’s gaining traction because of how flawless it makes you feel and the numerous celebrities who are getting into the trend. Fashion moguls such as Victoria Beckham to reality stars like Kim Kardashian are all hopping on the train to perfect eyebrows. As a company that provides permanent makeup for those who want to look like a million dollars all of the time, microblading is one of the best ways to have eyebrows that are superb. While it’s not a new makeup trend, it’s one that’s been getting a lot of attention lately.

However, with microblading, it can be something not a lot of people know about and there are a lot of myths surrounding it. Whether you’ve gotten your first microblading kit or you’ve scheduled your first appointment, you might be a little apprehensive about what to expect from microblading. To help ease any worries due to any stories you’ve heard, we are going to explore these myths and bust them.

Four Myths About Microblading

In today’s blog, we’ll be going over frequent myths that people hear all the time about microblading. While microblading can be a little scary because of the phrasing of the word, it’s actually not as scary as you might think. These four myths will help you learn why you shouldn’t be afraid of microblading kits or appointments. It Hurts

The very first myth — and the one you’re most afraid of — is whether microblading will hurt. While we aren’t going to tell you it’s comfortable, microblading isn’t going to make you cry and never want to do it again. Microblading is not like waxing or tweezing. Unlike those beautify techniques, microblading is a walk in the park in comparison. It’s not a tattoo or anything on your face. It’s a cosmetic procedure that allows your eyebrows to be defined and beautiful. You aren’t going to be hurt by the small exacto knife nor will you feel faint from any pain. While it’s not a pleasant sensation, microblading can be equated to a light sunburn after you’ve finished your appointment. During the appointment, you won’t feel anything, after you’ll feel a little discomfort, and a few days following you’ll feel like you have a slight sunburn. However, overall you won’t hurt from microblading and it’s something that won’t leave you wishing you’d never tried.

You Get Really Bad Scabs

You might be contemplating not getting microblading because of the scabs that occur after. You might be imaging large, deep, bad scabs that take forever to heal and leave you feeling less than perfect. While you do get scabs, they aren’t bad and they aren’t going to leave you feeling uncomfortable. Scabs occur because the area of skin is healing. In addition, you’ll have a soothing barrier cream that you’ll put on daily to eliminate scabs from creating any feelings of discomfort.

It’s Permanent

Another myth you might think is true is that microblading is permanent. While it does last longer than eyebrow waxes and tweezing, microblading is only semi-permanent. Semi-permanent means that you are not stuck with these eyebrows for the rest of your life. They will only last between 18 and 30 months. Now, that might sound lengthy, but it’s only for a year or two and if you don’t like them, then you’ll grow to like them. If you aren’t fond of the job that was done by the person doing the microblading, then don’t worry because you aren’t stuck with them. While one to three years may feel like a long time, microblading is a big change to your eyebrows and eventually, you’ll be more comfortable with the way they look.

Microbladed Eyebrows Become Bold And Dark

Our last myth is that microbladed eyebrows become bold and dark. While your eyebrows will look darker and more bold in the first few weeks after microblading, the coloring and tone will wear off and give you a much more natural look. The dark and bold toning of the microbladed eyebrows come from scabs and the pigments needing to become accustomed to your skin. After a few weeks, you won’t even notice any dark or bold eyebrows. Instead, you’ll just see shapely, defined brows that you’ve always wanted.
